Celebrating 50 years of artists at NTID

As an alumnus, I have been invited to submit my artwork to National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID), one of the nine colleges of Rochester Institute of Technology. NTID will celebrate its 50th anniversary of that college.  They will bring together 15+ Deaf artists, including NTID alumni and current students,  with art pieces at its gallery called the Dyer Arts Center for a special exhibition. Recently, I submitted several images of my cartoons. Hopefully, at least one of my work will be selected for the NTID 50th Anniversary exhibition at the Dyer Arts Center at that college between June 22 and October 20, 2018.

American Sign Language Alphabet

Below is a drawing image of the American Sign Language (ASL) alphabet. Learning the ASL alphabet can be fun to spell out with one hand - called fingerspelling. If you don't know a sign, you can fingerspell letters. Check out and practice the ASL alphabet:

American Sign Language (ASL) is the primary sign languageused in North America. ... The ASL manual alphabet is a system that uses the signer's dominant hand to represent each letter of the English language alphabet. Fingerspelling is the act of using a manual alphabet to sign each individual letter of a word.

Black HIstory Month

I created that a few years ago. Martin Luther King Jr. is one of great Civil Rights leaders who continue to inspire us on Black History Month.

Each year beginning on February 1, an entire month of events are planned nationwide honoring the history and contributions of African Americans. The theme for 2015 is "A Century of Black Life, History and Culture."
Black History Month began in 1926 as part of an initiative by writer and educator Dr. Carter G. Woodson who launched Negro History Week in 1926.Woodson proclaimed that Negro History Week should always occur in the second week of February —between the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln.Since 1976, every American president has proclaimed February as Black History Month. Today, other countries such as Canada and the United Kingdom also devote an entire month to celebrating black history.  Click Here for BCRI Black History Month Activities

2014 SWRBDA Conference

Hey.  I designed a program book for the 5th Biennial Southwestern Regional Black Deaf Advocates Conference occurred on August 1 - 2, 2014 in Houston, Texas. I was a committee member of Houston Black Deaf Advocates that hosted that big event. It was successful! Thanks to the hard work of SWRBDA committee, I was grateful for helping creating that fabulous 36-page program book.   Cheers, sisters & brothers!

Happy MLK Day!

Have a peaceful Martin Luther King Day. Embrace everyone. That was  what MLK always wanted.  I am coming back again and again to share pieces of my artwork.

Here is my "Pop Art" MLK painting. I did that years ago.
